Product Innovation, Original Content

At Netflix I was a PM on the Product Innovation team, focusing on Original Content. The crux of this role is acting as a bridge between Product and Content — in other words, helping our creative and technical teams collaborate in order to create a better product experience Netflix members. In this role, I worked alongside the content team to shape the strategy for Unscripted series and Comedy specials by bringing the user and product perspective into the room to answer a number of questions — who is the Unscripted / Comedy viewer and how do our members consume content? What product metrics and insights should we use to make content commissioning and development decisions? How does the product need to evolve to create a better experience for Unscripted / Comedy content? I also developed and influenced testing and experimentation to improve the content experience around our shows alongside Platform and Algo PMs on the innovation team. During my time at Netflix, I led the launches for a number of successful titles, including Rhythm + Flow, Dave Chappelle: Sticks and Stones, and Cheer.


Spotify

Product Director, Creator Marketplace

At Spotify, I was a Product Director on the Creative Marketplace team which is focused on creating tools and services to help artists and labels be more successful on Spotify. You can think of this team as the counterpart to consumer team, only our customers / stakeholders are the myriad of different actors in the music industry. I joined Creator when it was a team of 20 and helped to build it into a global organization of over 350. In my role, I led a team of 50 product managers, engineers, designers, researchers and data scientists building software to make the industry more accessible, efficient and fair. During my time there, my teams were responsible for a number of different features, including a data analytics platform to enable artists to better understand their music performance, a distribution platform to enable artists to directly upload music and get paid from Spotify, and a promotional platform to enable artists to market their new releases and build an audience on Spotify.


Compass

Lead PM, Consumer Experience

At Compass, I was the lead PM for our Consumer Experience. I joined the company as the 2nd PM and the 7th employee, and led development of a number of features that are still core to the product today (despite a few strategy pivots following my time there). These include Compass Neighborhood Guides and Compass Sales, which is now the lead revenue driver of the company today (now valued at $7B).


YouTube

Sr. Account Manager, Media & Entertainment

At YouTube I was a Sr. Account Manager working with the top companies in the Entertainment and Media portfolio like ABC, Warner Bros. Pictures and HBO. I designed and sold in Google and YouTube sponsorship programs for major campaigns like Harry Potter, Key & Peele, and the launch of HBO Go.


Various Internships

Google & The White House

I did two internships at Google in Product Marketing for AdSense and DoubleClick. I also was awarded a post-grad fellowship at the White House during Obama’s first term to work in the Office of Management & Administration (the office that runs the “operations” of the White House).


Education

Yale University and Stanford University

I received my B.A. from Yale where I graduated magna cum laude and double-majored in Political Science and Molecular Biology, and I received my M.B.A. from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
